About Jake,
​
Jake is a Stage & Technical Assistant with a passion for photography. In 2020, he graduated from university with a Film Industries degree and joined Fishbourne Roman Palace in 2022. There, he used his skills to capture historical reenactments and theatre.

In 2024, Jake was a Top 20 winner in Ubisoft's Photomode Competition. Using photography skills to create a historically inspired portrait, his in-game photo was chosen by judges as one of the Top 20 Winners worldwide; selected against 4000 virtual photographers and a collective 20,000 submissions. ​As a prize, Jake's submission was printed and exhibited in Ubisoft's Photomode Exhibition in their world-class game development studio: Ubisoft Montreal, Canada. In December 2024, he joined the Hayling Island Amateur Dramatic Society (HIADS) as a Volunteer Stage Production Assistant and Theatre Photographer. Since joining, Jake has photographed for shows such as: Cinderella Panto, Dangerous Obsession, and will be photographing and rigging for their upcoming flagship summer show, Ever After. Set to perform in late August 2025. Invited by the Director for Dangerous Obsession, Jake captured dramatic moments from Bench Theatre's close adaptation of Shakespeare's As You Like It, performed at the Spring Arts & Heritage Centre.

In March 2025, Jake's photo submission to Havant Borough Council's Climate & Biodiversity Photo Competition was shortlisted and displayed in the Spring Arts & Heritage Centre from March to May. Jake entered his photo, which you will see below, into the Wildlife Wonders catagory, the most popular category of the competition. Out of a total 75+ entries in this field, Jake was part of the Top 20 Wildlife Wonders that were displayed. Collectively, the competition gathered over 300 submissions. ​​

Demonstrating a passion for history, education, video and photography, Jake is a Volunteer Photographer for the Weald & Downland Living Museum. The objective is to liaise with their Marketing & Media team to generate ideas and create authentic and educational content to make history enjoyable for all ages. ​​
​
Being a member of the Hayling Island Camera Club (HICC), Jake has received multiple publications of his photography in the Hayling Herald Newspaper. These publications have featured his theatrical photography as well as island wildlife and historical reenactment. As a result of featuring in the newspaper, Jake's Sentries of Fishbourne Roman Palace captured the attention of Havant Constituency MP, Alan Mak, who congratulated him on the publication with a hand-signed letter.

Top 20 Winner of the Ubisoft Photomode Competition 2024
Ubisoft will celebrate the creativity of their players by opening the Photomode exhibition at Ubisoft Montreal’s studio. The gallery will bring together the original works of 20 in-game photographers selected by the judges, highlighting the infinite playgrounds of Ubisoft's virtual worlds.
